Cracked heels are a lot of things but fun isn’t one of them. And spending money on pedicures galore isn’t the answer — at least not anymore.

Taking care of cracked, dry feet can be a full time job. And who wants a full time job that’s just slogging away using your old-school pumice stone? It’s a lose-lose situation. But there’s a new kid on the block and it’s an electrified time saver that makes caring for your feet so much easier.

One of the Best Buys editors has put the DIOZO Electric Foot File to the test for more than a year and she’s sharing why it’s changed the game for how she cares for her feet.

A bit about Kat’s feet as told by her: Okay, so talking about your feet on the internet feels risky, but here we are.

I’m a bit ashamed to admit it, but my feet have historically been a bit unsightly. I did ballet for the better part of two decades and I still blame the state of my tootsies on that, despite that having been a few years ago now. But I digress. No matter how many pedicures I booked, lotions I purchased or how much time I spent with a regular pumice stone, I still dealt with majorly cracked heels, which didn't look great and felt even worse. But that’s changed in the last year as I’ve habitually used the DIOZO Electric Foot File.

There are a lot of electric pedistones on the market, but this one stood out to me for a few reasons.

Rave reviews; on Amazon it has a 4.5-star rating and 10,000-plus reviews.

Easy-to-change attachments let you quickly change between files while using.

Two speed settings and three roller heads make it easy to cater to your needs. Coarser files are good when your feet have taken extra wear and tear and a finer file for day-to-day touch ups.

This foot file is waterproof so you can use it while in the tub or shower.

Long-lasting roller heads — despite regular use for over a year, the original roller heads are still working wonders.

Excellent battery life; I typically only have to charge once every four-six weeks. The included charging cable can connect to any USB power socket, so you can take it with you wherever you go really.

It’s super easy to clean. Because it doesn’t catch filed-away dead skin, you only have to focus on the attachments. My pedicurist recommended cleaning it regularly with rubbing alcohol.

While this file is near perfect in my books, there is one addition that would be nice. I think it may have come with a fabric baggie when I bought it, but unfortunately that’s long gone. If it had a plastic case with compartments for each attachment, that would be a huge improvement. And something I would've held onto. I’ve traveled with this and a carry case would make it easier to pack.

Yes, but not included with your purchase. For under a tenner, you can buy a new set of rollers that are meant to fit this DIOZO Electric Foot File. I haven’t had to buy new attachments yet so I can’t attest to the quality of them. But when I do, I’ll be investing in these.

Using an electric pumice stone isn’t too different from using a manual one. Once it’s charged, you’re ready to go, just follow these easy steps:

After you’ve polished your feet, dry them off and apply your favourite lotion for a little extra pampering. Leave your electric foot file somewhere for it to dry between uses and clean regularly.

I use my file about once per week now to maintain my feet. But, if you’re like me when I started my journey for feet that aren’t embarrassing, you might use your foot file more often. For full transparency, I didn’t just begin by using the DIOZO alone. I jump-started the process with a foot peel. And yes, it was as disturbingly interesting as you might expect.

About a month after the peel’s effects were complete and I felt my feet could handle it, I started using my electric foot file to keep up my effort. While the peel meant lots of progress in about two weeks, I strongly believe I could’ve achieved smoother, softer feet with the electric foot file alone, but I was impatient.

Maybe one day I’ll fill you in, dear reader, about how the peel went, but that’s for another day!

Are you suffering from dry, lifeless hair? Maintaining a healthy mane is challenging for many. Shampoo manufacturers make all kinds of promises, but very few live up to the hype. Sadly, most of the formulas are made up of various chemicals that may do more harm than good. Why not opt for an all-natural shampoo choice like a CBD Shampoo?

We’ve tested a lot of hot air brushes in our quest to achieve cascading, cool-girl hair from the comfort of our own homes. Now it’s time to put two cult classics to the test.

A staple of every makeup routine, we love a good mascara. And we've discovered these high street mascaras that are just as good as their designer counterparts...

While there are a lot of things to love about winter, dry skin is not one of them. The cold weather has a tendency to strip moisture from our skin leaving our bodies feeling dry, dull and sometimes even a bit flaky.

Only the truly fortunate among us make it through the year without dealing with dry skin. But if you’re not one of the lucky ones, this Bio-Oil gel may be the winning ticket.
